This is a collection of photos of projects that I've done more recently just for fun.
These are photos of one of four music stands made of Maple, Mottled Makore, and Ebonized Anigre. The table is adjustable with an Ebony tightening knob, and the height is also adjustable by means of a sprung wood and leather internal shoe mounted to the inside end of the stainless steel post. The pattern for the "F" hole inlays was taken from a rubbing of the "f" holes on my own Cello of Stradivari model.
A fun little carving in Bubinga of a feeding wolf. The drawing was done by my friend Paul, who did all of the drawings for the carved Desk.
This board is patterned after a woodcut by MC Escher titled "Development 1". Each piece is inlaid into the substrate. The light wood is Olive Ash Burl, and the dark wood is Walnut Burl. The border is a highly figured Sapeli.
This inlaid box is also of Escher like design. Although not patterned specifically after an Escher piece, it uses one of his systems. There are two "motifs" which each travel in two rows, in opposite directions up, over, and down the other side of the box. Each piece is a horizontal mirror of the piece before/after it. The box is Maple. The dark creatures are of Australian Walnut, and the light creatures are of Quartered Cherry. The box is mitered on all sides and does not open.
